A small but significant breeding & show kennel

I am a KUSA registered breeder and have 28 years experience of the breed.

I imported my first Beagle from England, SA Ch. Crestamere Hot Spur of Isibindi in 1984. Until 1992 I showed and bred Beagles under the Isibindi and Micklegrange kennel names .

Beagles campaigned and made up during this period were:-

Ch Crestamere Hot Spur of Isibindi. Bred by the late Wyn Mahoney

Ch Tinjinlara Lal Lal of Micklegrange. Bred by the late Rusty Staunton

Ch Towri Zephyr of Micklegrange. Bred by Margot Anderson

Ch Micklegrange Allspice. Ch Crestamere Hot Spur of Isibind x Ch Tinjinlara Lal Lal of Micklegrange.

Ch Micklegrange Briar. Ch Crestamere Hot Spur of Isibindi x Ch Towri Zephyr of Micklegrange.

Ch Micklegrange Bramble. Ch Crestamere Hot Spur of Isibindi x Ch Towri Zephyr of Micklegrange.

After a lenghty sojourn in England with Hot Spur and Bramble as companions for a number of years. I returned to South Africa in September 2008 with Rupert - SA CH Serenaker Love Me Do of Pinoak (Imp UK). Clementine - SA Ch Rossut Junket of Pinoak (Imp. UK) and Lotti - SA Ch Fallowfield Lotti (Imp UK) followed fairly shortly thereafter.

The other members of the team are Jemima - Ch Morninghunt Snarf of Pinoak and Snoopy - Ch Moomba Bindie of Pinoak co owned with Carol Lynam of Bathurst, and home bred Archie -Pinoak Archie's a Duke , Augusta - Pinoak Augusta's Wicked, Bella - Pinoak Bonne Bella and coowned with Sue Bradfield of Southwell, Bathurst, Barnaby - Pinoak Barnaby's Right and Mali - Van Willmich Lady Mali of Pinoak.

The Show team for 2012 will be Clemmie, Archie & Augusta to start off the year with Bella, Barnaby & Mali hopefully coming into the ring from May.

Puppies are occasionally available to approved homes. All puppies are registered, innoculated, microchipped and dewormed before leaving for their new homes .My next planned mating will be between Ch Moomba Bindie of Pinoak & Ch Rossut Junket of Pinoak towards the end of the year. A booking list for puppies from this mating is already open.

MLS - I shall be following the guidelines as set out by the Beagle Club (UK) of which I am a member. ..... " We must not just eliminate all carriers from our population at the outset of testing or we become too focused on the disease & forget other things. We can use this test as a tool and help us to mate only Clear dogs together or a Carrier to a Clear dog. This way affected puppies are not produced and we dilute the gene in the population. We run the risk of ruining the beagle in the UK (SA) if we do this too quickly. We must use the test over time to ensure that we do not mate Carriers together." ...... When not showing or breeding Beagles I am kept very busy as Contracts Manager for Hector's Bay Landscapers fulfilling landscaping contracts in the Free State, Gauteng & the Eastern Cape . In addition we also offer Pet Friendly Accommodation in Priest's Cottage, Bathurst and made to measure Crate Covers, Dog Beds & Whelping Mats.
